SPRING in to Gear

Let’s get you Summer ready. Body and mind.

As the chill of winter gives way to the warmth of spring, there’s an exciting energy in the air. The days are longer, the flowers are blooming, and it’s the perfect time to shake off the winter blues and SPRING into gear. It’s time! Time to start working on that summer body and revamping your nutrition program.

Whether you’re looking to shed some winter weight or simply embrace a healthier lifestyle, it is finally the season of renewal, and a perfect opportunity to reset your goals.

Lets start with resetting your fitness goals. Face it, Winter doesn’t always go as planned. But let’s let it go and replan. We know it’s not easier to get up early and also the dun goes down later – so essentially our days seem longer. This means almost an hour more in your day to get that training time in.


Before diving into the workouts, it’s important to set clear, achievable fitness goals first. Decide:

1. Do you want to lose weight.

2. Build muscle.

3. Increase endurance.

4. Or just feel more energised?

Whatever your goal, write it down and break it into smaller, manageable steps. Remember, consistency is key. It’s better to start small and gradually build up your routine rather than overwhelming yourself from the start.

Now the fun part, let revamp your fitness routine together. Freshen it up, with things you haven’t always done in the past. At Critical Fitness we’ve been introducing different styles of workout each week to spice things up. Why not challenge yourself to do something new this month that you haven’t done before. For example:

    • Run a 10km race
    • Lift weights
    • Get my first push up or pull up
    • Join the gyms month Movement challenge
    • Hike
    • Start Pilates

Pick one to start off with and excite your mind with a new challenge. Then very importantly, it’s time to clean up that eating plan. The body needs far less pastas and potatoes and more salads and water. A diet spring clean of sorts. What do you need to eliminate this coming month and what do you need to add? Write it down and get started with ONE thing this week so you don’t feel too overwhelmed too quickly. As you get comfortable with the first change, make the second one and so on. Our most important healthy diet tips are to keep hydrated in the Summer months, remember having enough water also burns fat. Keep drinking!-

And then keep your meals balanced. Filled with lots of lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats, and plenty of vegetables. This will provide you with sustained energy throughout the day and keep your metabolism in check.
